1998 - 2006
My first experience at online gaming was playing in an ALT tourney at the ZONE &
I thought it was the coolest thing ever! Until then, I only had played regular spades -
OFFLINE. It didn't matter that I didn't win, I had so much fun I couldn't
wait for the next tourney to start which at that time were few & far between.
I have always sucked at bidding when playing spades so I thought, I could create formats for those like me who cant bid - but can play - & host my own tourneys! Shortly
after, armed with notepad, some text to copy/paste in the lobby & a bundle of nerves, Wham Bam Spade Me Ma'am ran its first ALT tourney on April
11th, 1998 with only 8
teams. The format was Naughty Mirrors. By the time the tourney was over, I was hooked & knew this was something
I really wanted to do.
SoWickedItHurts & MistressSlave4U were with Wham Bam since the beginning. During our 8 years on the ZONE we trained many hosts & created over 25 original ALT
formats - some are still being run today! We have done anything & everything that can be done with Spades & Tournament rooms including Musical Chairs, Table Races,
Egg Hunts, Zone Olympics & 3 seasons of Survivor Spades. There were many many other co-hosts during our time on the zone but Wicked & Slave... no one else like
'em in the world & Wham Bam wouldn't have been the same without them.
2006 - 2010
After the ZONE closed, players & hosts scattered to different gaming sites. Wham Bam was asked to join WGC which we did. MistressSlave4U decided that it was the
ZONE or nothing for her & left hosting. She was my best friend & I miss what we used to have but since she left hosting, we
don't talk anymore.
Wicked & I ran another version of Survivor Spades here along with Big Brother Backgammon. We stayed at WGC for 4 years thru the good & the bad. I
don't regret my
time there because it was there that I met Finster. A
friend who is truly the best host around & a heck of a person to live with someone like DUDE. When the players
& host numbers dwindled for whatever reason & everyone was leaving we also made the wise move to Safe Harbor Games.
Oct 2, 2010 -
Wham Bam ran its first tourney here at SHG in the same SAT night 6p PST timeslot we have had since the start of hosting. The established players here
didn't quite know
what to think of our formats but over time have accepted that our formats
are part of who we are - of what Wham Bam is. Hosting the word game 'ACRO' in the lobby is
just another way we provide fun for the players who are waiting for their next round.
3 years later on Dec 6th, 2013 Wham Bam branched out of Spades & started hosting Pachisi. We were the first group to offer 4 player formats including
Pard-Chisi to the players. Almost a year later, we have even more formats & several hosts which allowed us to get our own room!
We also offer a monthly contest for the
most pawns in the Home Triangle in which the winner receives 30 days of a Yacht Club Membership which they can keep or give to someone. Look up PRO under formats

We have always tried to be a group who brings something different to the players.
There's more to online gaming then just playing cards or rolling dice. With SHG's
sponsoring of the prizes, Wham Bam runs 2 annual BINGOs & the Easter Egg Hunt.
4 years later we are still here bringing new things to the
players & hope to continue to do so for many years to come.
In closing, I would like to say that without SoWickedItHurts/SoWicked; Wham Bam
probably wouldn't be here today. 16 years, 30+ alt formats, 3 Survivor Spades, 1 Big Brother Backgammon, yearly 48 hour Anniversary Bashes, zOlympics, multiple LOA's, 3 gaming sites & several cohosts later
he's still here by my side supporting me & all my crazy ideas & I love him dearly for it.
